Reconstruction de la mémoire entremêle des photographies analogiques prises dans la ville natale de l’artiste et la transparence du papier porcelaine, en un dialogue fragile entre ce qui reste visible et ce qui a été effacé. Sous forme de rétroprojection sur papier porcelaine, le film devient à la fois écran et surface, révélant les tensions matérielles du souvenir. Il médite sur la nostalgie en tant que patrimoine immatériel, une archive affective transmise à travers des images. En exposant les rayures, le grain du film et les imperfections matérielles, il reconnaît la physicalité et la vulnérabilité de la mémoire, invitant à habiter l’intervalle où la mémoire devient à la fois intime et inconnaissable, en une reconstruction façonnée autant par l’absence que par la présence.

The Reconstruction of Memory interweaves analog photographs from the artist’s homeplace with the translucency of porcelain paper, forming a fragile dialogue between what remains visible and what has been erased. Presented as a back-projection onto porcelain paper, the film becomes both screen and surface, revealing the material tensions of remembering. It meditates on nostalgia as an intangible heritage – an affective archive carried forward through images. By exposing scratches, film grain, and material imperfections, the work emphasizes the physicality and vulnerability of memory. The film invites viewers to inhabit the interval where memory becomes both intimate and unknowable, a reconstruction shaped as deeply by absence as by prese.
