AUTO|BIOGRAPHIES exprime ce que signifie pointer une caméra vers la nature et comment l’objectif imite l’œil en tant qu’outil qui perpétue les préjugés implicites dans la vision humaine. En mêlant vidéo numérique et photographie analogique expérimentale animée, elle déconstruit le mécanisme de la caméra, comme substitut de l’œil. En une logique silencieuse, se construit un voyage immersif à travers des paysages verts mais sans verdure, des pellicules déchirées, des yeux arrachés et des cadavres végétaux, afin de redécouvrir les limites de sa propre vision et d’explorer de nouvelles façons de présenter la nature dépourvue du regard humain.

AUTO|BIOGRAPHIES is an exploration of what it means to point a camera towards nature, and how the lens mimics the eye as a tool that perpetuates the biases implicit in human vision.
Through a mixture of digital video and animated experimental analog photographic work, the mechanism of the camera, proxy of the eye, is dismantled. With minimal silent narration, the film invites the viewer onto an immersive journey—across green landscapes devoid of green, torn film and torn out eyes, and vegetal corpses — to rediscover the limits of their own vision and explore novel ways of presenting nature devoid of the human gaze.
