Auftritt und Abgang von Mascha (Entrée et sortie de Mashcha) le titre joue avec sa fonction programmatique puisqu’il annonce à demi-mots les déambulations d’une femme or elles s’avèrent à travers un processus de transformation digitale. Ainsi dans les locaux d’une grande entreprise de visualisation architecturale, des opérations délicates et minutieuses parviennent à un rendu photographique réaliste afin de promouvoir des espaces de bureau à construire. Pour ce faire, Mascha B. est captée en scanner 3D, pour un traitement numérique y compris des retouches. Une salle de bureau, elle aussi calculée numériquement est à son tour meublée avant l’arrivée de Mascha B. et de ses collègues virtuels. Le processus de composition bénéficie du contrepoint d’une aria de l’opéra Les Contes d’Hoffmann, crée en 1881, exaltant l’histoire amoureuse d’un homme avec une automate, Olympia.

Auftritt und Abgang von Mascha B. (Entrance and Exit of Mascha B.) follows a young woman through a digital transformation process.
In the premises of a big architectural visualization company, delicate operations give rise to a photorealistic rendering that is to promote a yet-to-be-built office space. For that, Mascha B. gets 3D-scanned, processed and retouched digitally. A virtual office room is furnished and inhabited by Mascha B. and digital colleagues. The final rendering process is accompanied by the aria from the 1881 fantastic opera The Tales of Hoffmann, in which the hero hopelessly falls in love with the mechanical puppet Olympia.
